The Sassis village church:
This is a Roman church, with a very simple ground plan (there is no chapel).
It has a pretty semi-circular chevet made of drith boulders, decorated with pillars and a cornice with simple, elegant sculpted modillions (heads, geometrics shapes).
The apse seems to have two flats buttresses that reach the chevet cornice.
The portal has a tympanum with chrism, the bell gable, two semi-circular bays.
among the beautiful objects preserved in this church and recorded in the inventory of the Historical Monuments, are:
. a 13th century cast-iron clock;
. a 13th century stone basin ( or Baptism font);
. near the portal, a Latin inscription from 1294 and an engraved portal related to an archpriest of Barèges buried in Sassis with members of his family:
. a statue of the virgin with child standing in painted wood, dating from the 14th century;
. the 18th century Baroque painted wood high altarpiece.
