This valley is classified with the world inheritance UNESCO. Transborder site, leaned with the Spanish canyons of Anisclo, Pineta and of mythical Ordesa, the territory of Gavarnie Gèdre belongs to the site "the Pyrenees Mont-Perdu, country of circuses and canyons", recognized like world inheritance by UNESCO, as a natural landscape and a cultural landscape. This reconnaisance devotes alliance between the man and the natural beauty, its adaptation to the natural constraints, of altitude and the relief, but also the transborder exchanges ever stopped between the communities of the Spanish and French slopes.
